Plains is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Plains is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Tonight was my first time eating at Dβs Diner and it is my last time let me count the waysβ¦the baked potato was still undercooked with tough texture the baked haddock had no flavor to it whatsoever and it was very dry and Iβm not sure if rubbery is the correct term to describe it but it was dry and flavorless the salad was ok with balsamic vinaigrette and the carrots were good they were prepared just right the atmosphere well there were only a few people there as far as customer wise it is a rainy night so maybe thatβs why plus the food isnβt too great either like I already said and the seats are ripped and torn I get it I understand wear and tear happens with time and there were many flies and gnats all around us I had to keep waving my arms consistently so they wouldnβt get in my food the only part of my experience that was excellent and I highly recommend was the service the waitress was very kind and polite and friendly the meals were brought out very quickly she was the best part of my night and itβs also cash only and their atm was out of order so we had to leave when we first arrived there so we went back out in the pouring rain before we sat down to eat and went across the

I try not to give bad ratings to local owned businesses, but sometimes I have to. First, the place is worn out...some may call it charming, I call it kinda dirty and old. If the front of house looks dilapidated..I can guarantee the kitchen looks much worse. 2nd, the food was absolutely atrocious. They decided to chop my scrambled eggs into tiny little slivers of way overcooked bits. The homefries were so bad tasting i couldn't eat more than one piece. Toast was slathered in margarine...ewwww. the sausage was the only thing that kinda was ok. I don't really understand why every diner in the world thinks that eggs, especially scrambled eggs, should be cooked on a flat top griddle.Cook em in a pan, get curds to build, make them creamy and delicious, I understand it takes a little more time, but it's the right way to do it. Home fries are such simple things to do great.. slice them thin on a mandolin, throw them in some bacon, fat, salt and pepper. That's all you need. They taste delicious if you do it right. Their home fries probably sat in water and vinegar, which is a trick a lot of places use to help make them brown, as well as storage and they probably sat in the refrigerato

Hubby & I went to D's this morning for the first time.... nobody around here seems to have GOOD breakfast taters.... well, long story short, we have found our new breakfast spot. Next is to try their lunch & dinner as well. Highly recommend, oh and their coffee is awesome too! The service, the staff, the price, EVERYTHING is too notch! Side note... I'm diabetic, and the fact they have low sugar ketchup on their tables made me extremely happy!

Canβt get an order right to save their life what kind of diner serves instant mashed potatoes mind you when you get your order for takeout by the time the order gets home. The instant potatoes are liquefied. I ordered gravy fries extra gravy. They came with American cheese on them. I ordered a burger came with welted piece of lettuce and water log tomatoes with a big core in the middle very dissatisfied. The last few times Iβve ordered sad because this used to be my go to and yes, I know that you only had instant potatoes there as long as youβve been open, you should reallyreconsider. I never seen a diner dish out instant potatoes. I spend a lot of money with you and I an never a satisfied customer and if you wanna ask, why do I keep coming back because I keep hoping for better and hoping for a home-cooked meal this is not it. When I called to speak with someone and ask, whatβs going on there that nothing seems to be coming out right the older woman was rude and obnoxious very poor customer service and future reference people like catch up with their burgers if thatβs too much to asked! Thank you

We had decided we wanted diner food and this place did not disappoint! It was exactly what I was craving/ hoping for! I had the two eggs, bacon, toast and homefries! My son and husband had the burger platter! It was all just very yummy and the portions were great! The breakfast potatoes were excellent! I will say the butter on the toast tasted like movie popcorn butter but who isn't happy about that?! It was a yummy, greasy (in a good way) diner breakfast and I loved it! We all commented that the french fries were perfect and the coleslaw was great! My husband and son enjoyed the burgers! I'm glad I randomly googled diners and gave this place a shot! I'm even more glad that when I saw cash only that I had stuck a 50 I had at home in my pocket! There is an ATM but I'm too cheap for those fees! I will definitely go back here next time we're in Wilkes Barre! Service was good and this place seems popular! I showed my friends pics and they all said is it as good as it looks?! YES!
